July 1999 |
With the help of the Fijian Embassy we re-established contact with a Fijian friend who suggested that we go out to Fiji to help in a children's home. |

Nov. 1999 |

We made our first visit to Fiji and stayed and helped at St Christopher's Children's Home, Nakasi, Fiji. We also used our time to build up various contacts in the country. |

Jan. 2000 |
|
We returned to England and began fund raising to help the children of the home. |

May 2000 |
We applied to the Charity Commission to become a registered charity under the name of 'St Christopher's Children's Home, Fiji' |

July 2000 |
|
We made a pledge to ITV Year of Promise, which stated 'We will create a learning area for St Christopher's Children's Home in Fiji'. |

Aug. 2000 |
|
Spurred on by our success we realised that we could widen our horizons to help children over the whole country and we changed the name of the charity to 'Children of Fiji' |

Sep. 2000 |
|
Children of Fiji was accepted as a registered charity (No. 1082331). Our declared objective is to advance education and relieve poverty of children in Fiji |
| Sept 2002 | 'Children of Fiji' becomes a registered charity in Fiji (registration number 630) | |
| Nov 2002 | The object of the charity is widened to to advance education, health and welfare and to relieve poverty of children in Fiji |
