THE GREAT BALLOON RELEASE JULY 11th 2010

One of our regular fund-raising activities is the release of over 1000 brightly coloured helium balloons from our village. It is a spectacular sight to see the balloons go up. The balloons are 'sold' at £1 each and, since the event is sponsored, this can raise well over £1000 for the charity. Once again there will be a prize for the person whose balloon goes the furthest (and a prize for the finder). In 2007 the  winning balloon made it all the way from Cattistock in Dorset to Lithuania !!

We are repeating the event on July 11th 2010. If you would like to purchase a balloon please send us your £1 and give us your contact details. If you are able to sell some balloons on our behalf then please contact us and we will send you a 'sponsor' form.

It should be a fun launch, maybe you could attend in person? If not, then we will certainly put photographs of the launch on the website. Although it is not until July 11th 2009 you need to get your balloon as soon as possible so that we can have an idea of numbers and then get the media involved.

To become part of this you simply need to 'buy a balloon' for £1 and give us your contact details. We will let you know your balloon number and put your name on the balloon tag.

We will endeavour to contact all people whose balloon tickets are returned to us and let you know how far your balloon travelled.

You can pay your £1 on line and simply email us your name and contact details or you can email us and we will give our address for posting your £1. To pay on line click here.

All money raised from this event will be used directly (and personally) to help disadvantaged children in Fiji.

For the sake of these children PLEASE donate a pound and make this a huge success.

Some people have commented on the environmental effect of an event such as this. We also consider this important and we are using fully bio-degradable balloons and labels.
