What can you help us with now?

World wide, approximately 1 in 100 people suffer from Epilepsy. Epilepsy is a condition which affects the brain and causes seizures or ‘fits’ If untreated, seizures can get worse and become life-threatening.

Suitable medication can help people to have fewer seizures and in some cases stop them altogether.

To assess the correct medication the Epilepsy must be diagnosed and then monitored. The machine to do this is an Electroencephalogram (EEG).

We are raising funds to provide a portable EEG machine based in the Children’s department of the main hospital in Fiji. By being portable, it means that the medical staff can hold clinics on different islands and patients will not have to travel to Suva to get the test.
